Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
1. Introduction
Snippr ("Snippr", "we", "us", "our") takes the privacy and security of our users seriously. We provide this Privacy Policy because our users have the right to know what information we collect, how it is used, and how it is protected. This Privacy Policy, together with our Terms of Service, governs the relationship between you and Snippr when you use our mobile application and related services. The service is provided by Yaroslav Shyshka, an individual developer.
Snippr reserves the right to update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable laws, functionality of the app, or requirements imposed by third-party service providers. The latest version of this Policy will be published on our website with the date of the most recent update. It is your responsibility to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of Snippr following changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
You may contact us at support@getsnippr.com with any questions related to this Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect two types of information: information you voluntarily provide to us when using Snippr, and technical information automatically collected while you interact with the app.
When you register an account, you provide us with your email address and a password. Your password is stored only in encrypted form — we do not have access to it in plain text.
While using Snippr, we store the information necessary to maintain your personal library: URLs of the videos you extract audio from; metadata of extracted tracks (title, duration, source platform, thumbnail); MP3 files saved in your private library; playlists you create; cover images you upload for playlists; and tracks you mark as favorites.
We automatically collect technical information to operate the service and identify problems. This includes your IP address, device model, operating system version, and crash logs generated if the app closes unexpectedly.
We also collect anonymous analytics about app usage — how much time you spend in Snippr, which features you use most often, and subscription-related metrics. This information is not linked to your email address and is not used to personally identify you.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to provide and improve Snippr. We use your email and password for authentication and to send transactional messages — registration confirmation, password recovery, and important updates about your account. We do not send marketing emails or use your email address for advertising.
Your library, playlists, and preferences are stored so you can access them across your devices. Snippr processes Pro subscriptions through App Store and Google Play — we do not receive or store your payment details directly.
Push notifications are sent for important updates relevant to your experience, such as reaching daily extraction limits or significant product updates. You may disable push notifications in your device settings or in the app settings.
Crash logs and anonymous analytics help us identify errors, optimize app performance, and better understand how users interact with features. Technical information is also used to protect the service from abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
Snippr does not sell your information to third parties, does not use it for marketing advertisements, and does not share it with advertisers.
4. Where Your Information Is Stored
Your information is stored on servers operated by our trusted service providers. The primary database, including your email address, library metadata, playlists, and settings, is hosted on Supabase in Frankfurt, Germany, within the European Union. Your MP3 files and cover images are stored in Supabase Storage, also in the EU. The Snippr backend server, which processes audio extraction requests, is hosted on Railway in the United States.
All information is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections and stored in encrypted form.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
Snippr uses a limited set of trusted service providers, each of whom complies with GDPR data protection standards. Supabase provides database, authentication, and file storage. Railway provides infrastructure for our backend server. App Store and Google Play process Pro subscriptions. PostHog is used for anonymous product analytics. Sentry collects crash logs to identify errors. Expo Push Notifications Service delivers push notifications to your device.
Each of these providers is required to process your information in accordance with their own privacy policies and is not permitted to use it for other purposes.
We may disclose your information at the request of law enforcement authorities if required by law, to protect our rights or the rights of other users, or to prevent threats to personal safety.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide Snippr and fulfill our legal obligations.
Your account and personal library are retained as long as your account is active. Backend logs are retained for 7 days for debugging and abuse detection. Crash logs in Sentry are retained for 30 days. Anonymous analytics in PostHog are retained for 90 days, after which they are aggregated to produce general insights without linking to specific sessions.
If you delete your account, all your personal information and library are deleted within 30 days. Backup copies may temporarily retain your information for a limited period, but they are automatically deleted within the next backup rotation cycle.
7. Your Rights
Because Snippr stores information on servers in the EU, you are entitled to the rights defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
You have the right to request a copy of all information we hold about you. You may ask us to correct inaccurate data or update outdated information. You may request the deletion of your account and all associated information. In certain cases, you may ask us to restrict the processing of your information or object to it. You may receive your information in a machine-readable format (JSON) for portability to another service.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@getsnippr.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days. You may also delete your account directly through the app's settings.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The Snippr mobile app does not use cookies. Our website getsnippr.com uses only essential cookies necessary for the site to function, such as preserving language preferences. We do not use tracking cookies or set third-party cookies for advertising or analytics on the website.
9. Push Notifications
Snippr may send push notifications for messages important to your user experience, such as reaching daily extraction limits or significant product updates. When you first launch the app, iOS will ask for your permission to send push notifications. You may grant or deny this permission and change it later in your device settings (iOS Settings > Notifications > Snippr) or directly in Snippr's settings.
10. Children
Snippr is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information from children of this age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has registered an account without your permission, please contact us at support@getsnippr.com. We will delete the account and all associated information.
11. Data Security
We have implemented technical and organizational security measures to protect your information from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. All information is transmitted over secure HTTPS/TLS connections. Passwords are stored in hashed form using bcrypt and are not accessible to us in plain text. We use Row-Level Security at the database level to ensure that you can only access your own information. Access to administrative panels is restricted and protected by two-factor authentication.
While we take all reasonable precautions to protect your information, no system is absolutely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not responsible for unauthorized access to your account resulting from the compromise of your password or device.
12. Changes to This Policy
Snippr reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app push notification at least 30 days before they take effect. The updated version of the Policy will be posted on our website with the revised last-updated date. By continuing to use Snippr after these changes, you agree to the updated Policy.
